Welcome to USF! We understand that transferring can sometimes be a trying experience. Our college office will endeavor to have all of your courses evaluated before the end of your first semester at USF. If we have difficulty in equating a course to one at USF your advisor may have you see a representative from that discipline for assistance with that evaluation.
Be sure to point out any problems or discrepancies you may see in your transferred work. Also be sure to explore with your advisor the various science majors at USF as we may have a different selection than your previous institution. See an advisor every semester (even if you have had a negative experience with advisors elsewhere). Be especially careful with the sequencing of your science courses at USF as many of our courses have prerequisites that may differ from those of your previous institution.
Do jump right in to student organizations, volunteer work, and research opportunities. You may be ready to initiate applications to professional schools or graduate programs in as little as one year. Be sure to sign up for our list-serv and check out our web site often for information on application workshops, open houses at various schools, and other information of special interest to juniors and seniors.
