Paul, Jennifer. - 1997. Latin Women of Tampa, Florida: Oral History Project.

Abstract: The Latin Wome of Tampa, Florida, Oral History Project focuses on the life experiences of second generation immigrant women. The oral history project was conducted through an interenship sponsored by the Ybor City Museum Society, the University of South Florida Office of Community Advancement and the University of South Florida Center for Applied Anthropology. The intersnhsip also included the development of the Ybor City Museum Society Resource Center. The Latin American Women of Tampa, Florida, Oral History Project revealed new insights on the daily lives of women who grew up in immigrant families in Tampa's cigarmaking enclave. These women were asked to express their feelings on heritage, identity and family. The resulting narratives examine issues focusiong on generation, assimilation, family, social life, education, heritage, self perception, work and aging.
