Schneider, Willard G. 1982 - THE OCALA NATIONAL FOREST:

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEY: 1979 - 1980: This paper outlines the purpose, methods, and results of the archaeological work conducted ln the Ocala National Forest in 1979-1980.The purpose of the survey was to locate archaeological sites in the Ocala National Forest. Legal requirements made it mandatory that these surveys take place prior to Forest Service activities.Fifty-six thousand acres were surveyed in the Ocala National Forest using walk-over transects. Forty-nine new sites were located. Evidence from the survey pointed to differential use of the upland sand pine and riverine and lake areas.
